OYO APA ACCUSES LG
CHAIRMEN OF CONNIVING WITH INEC ELECTORAL OFFICERS TO DISTRIBUTE PVC
The African Peoples Alliance (APA) , Oyo State
Chapter has accused Oyo INEC Local Government Electoral Officers of conniving
with Oyo APC Local Government Chairmen in distributing permanent voters’ card
to their party faithfuls.
The
party made this allegation after their emergency meeting in Ibadan yesterday.
According
to the Acting Chairman of the Party, “We are fully aware that some local
government areas are currently accommodating local government offices of INEC, some
INEC offices are not even far from the offices of the elected local government
chairmen of the ruling party. We have heard and seen different situations where
these so called APC Local Government Chairmen went to INEC offices in their
local government and collected huge numbers of PVCs for their member.
The
acting Chairman of the African Peoples Alliance (APA) described this action as
biased, undemocratic, unfair and partial.
The
party finally urged INEC REC, Mutiu Agboke to investigate the allegations
leveled against the Commission’s electoral officers.
